Great Guitars
Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden, Frank Vignola

Bucky Pizzarelli is a
regular guest of Umbria Jazz, often appearing in the company of his
son John, the talented singer. He is widely held to be one of the
masters of the guitar, and the books he has written on it have become
the bible of many students. He has performed as a soloist with
symphony orchestras, but he is renowned above all as a first-class
jazz soloist and magnificent accompanist. Many musicians have called
on his talents, from Benny Goodman to Zoot Simms, as well as pop
singers such as Neil Sedaka and Ray Charles, and, of course, Frank
Sinatra. Bucky is an innovator (he has developed a famous seven-string
guitar) and fine stylist, an elegant, composed, relaxed guitarist with
an innate sense of swing.
