Armando Anthony Chick
Corea, born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1941, is one of the leading
jazz pianists of our time, as his nine Grammy awards testify. His
prodigious technique and extraordinary flexibility have led him to
explore a wide variety of expressive forms and settings. His musical
projects range from mainstream to classical chamber music, from Latin
to free jazz, from the classic piano trio to fusion, from the “new
directions” of Miles Davis to the impressionistic atmosphere of his
solo piano work.
