Chucky C & Clearly Blue

This versatile entertainer hails for the public schools of New Orleans with a concentration of music studies enriched by the teachings of Johnny Fernandez, Ellis Marsalis and Alvin Baptiste. He also states that his sources of inspiration were the female vocalists loved by his mother and grandmother including Dinah Washington, Diana Ross, Billie Holiday and the inimitable vocals of Jerry Butler. Being raised in this environment of rich talent, "Chucky C" blends all of his musical influences from jazz to pop, traditional jazz to blues and can change gears to satisfy diverse audiences making him a real crowd pleaser.

""Chucky C"" has been dubbed by many as one of the hardest working men in show business. He first recorded at the age of 17 with Burnt Toast & Coffee, with Les Getrex, Glen Washington, August Williams and Kenneth Scott. One of his definite strong points is that he is multi-talented with the ability to play all the saxophones, flute, harmonica and piano. Having a wide vocal range allows him the flexibility to sing an even wider variety of musical selections.

He has performed and recorded with many well known artists, including Aaron Neville, Edie Brickell, Bo Diddley, Maria Muldaur, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Johnny Adams, Marva Wright, Irma Thomas, Jean Knight, Marcia Ball, Tracey Nelson, O.V. Wright, Syl Johnson and Percy Mayfield.

As a member of the New Orleans based Lousiana Purchase Band, "Chucky C" had the opportunity to perform in venues throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The group toured with the Temptations opening act. This was a preiceless experience providing a true honing and perfecting of entertainment skills. This sojourn also helped get opening jobs for the greats, B.B. King, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Spinners, Howie Mandell, Bobby "Blue" Bland, James Brown, Patti LaBelle, Diana Ross, Tyronne Davis, The Chi-Lites and The Manhattans. He can also be seen on the WWW with Edie Brickell in her Geffen Records release "Good Times."
