MILES DAVIS & JOHN COLTRANE
THE 75th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Pianist Herbie Hancock’s most recent project is an ambitious one:
a homage to Miles Davis and John Coltrane on their seventy-fifth
birthdays. In fact, Miles and Trane were both born in 1926, and if
they had still been alive, last year they would have completed
three-quarters of a century. The project has been recorded live by
Verve at Masey Hall with the same front line as will appear in
Perugia, but with a different rhythm section.
