The 31 year-old Lyle e.
Henderson has been singing and performing Gospel and Urban
Inspirational music since age five. After being anointed to sing
praise and worship while being prepared to exemplify excellence in
stage presence, he became responsible for music locally and nationally
with The Church of the Living God. Some of the great artists that Lyle
has performed with include Edwin Hawkins with the Music and Arts
Seminar, Jubilant Sykes, Adamskj (English pop band in a special Gospel
song, live in Italy over the
internet) Marva Wright, Davell Crawford, Jazz saxophonist Reggie
Houston, The New Orleans Gospel Soul Children, Ronnie "Diamond" Hoard,
Tonex, the late Oıland Draper, Jazz trumpeter Terrance Blanchard,
Witness, Nacey Jackson and Brenda Waters.
The Hebrew translation for the groupıs name, Lyle Henderson &
Emmanuel, "God With Us," is a prayer and plea for Godıs constant
presence with the group at all times.
His style has been compared to both traditional and contemporary
Gospel artists. As a former emcee/singer/producer of the weekly Gospel
Brunch at the New Orleans House of Blues, Lyle has been nicknamed "the
little man with the BIG voice!"
Lyle released his debut album, entitled "I Cannot Go Back" in 1997. It
featured a unique blend of traditional and contemporary Gospel. The
project was recognized by industry professionals and media alike,
achieving chart successes nationally for airplay. The project entered
the Southern regional chart at #8 and 2 national charts at #11 and #
38. The winner of the OffBeat Magazinesıs Best Of The Beat award and
the Jazz And Heritage Foundation Gospel Award, touring nationally and
internationally, Lyle is working constantly.
