Mingus Big Band

As will be obvious from their name, this group is completely dedicated to bringing the music of Charles Mingus to life, fresh and creative as he would have wished it. This is no orchestra of nostalgic embalmers; these musicians all have a great deal of love and respect for one of the great geniuses of jazz composition and they know it would be wrong to treat his work with an excess of reverence or worse, as something routine.
