Bornin Turin in 1946,
Zegna studied piano at the Paganini Conservatory in Genoa, spent a few
years giving classical concerts, and then dedicated himself to jazz in
1976. Since then he has worked with many important Italian and
international jazz musicians including Harry Edison, Lee Konitz and
Dave Liebman. He has appeared at important festivals such as Umbria
Jazz, Sanremo and Nice, and toured in Germany and Russia. He is also a
teacher at the music seminars held in Siena each year. In 1995 he was
pianist and arranger on a recording of Gershwin’s musical “American in
Paris”. Among his recent works are a solo recording entitled
“Andalusia” and a live trio CD called “Green Dolphin Street”. He has
just completed a recording of his “Piccoli Valzer” project for Egea.
